Cloudy line advice scam!!!
This fake number was used by the criminals to call me today. I had never heard of Kirkwhelpington. Such calls are DANGEROUS to anyone who believes their story that there is something wrong and they can fix it if their computer instructions are followed. They do not always say they are from Talk Talk. Sometimes they say they are from B.T. or even Openreach, but whatever it is they (usually) know information about the person they are calling because of a massive Talk Talk leak that occurred several ye

Guy with indian accent called himself "John" (obvious BS), said I was eligible for a replacement boiler under government scheme (like the Tories would do that). Told him I rent and don't have a boiler, he'd need to contact my estate agent. He had no idea what I was talking about. I repeated it a couple of times and in the end he gave up. Blocked the number so cannot comment on harrasment level but I am sure this is a scam.
Seemed genuine.
