SCAM / SPAM A pre-recorded voice announces the call is from HMRC and that they detected a fraud and tell you to press a number on your phone, if you don't you'll face prosecution an a mandate to take you to prison would be issued immediately.

unsolicited call received on my mobile, I answered after a couple of rings but the caller hung up.
Insurance Trying to get me to take out boiler cover. I informed them I was with the telephone preference service and said it was illegal for them to call me. He laughed and said it wasnt. I stated I had not asked for them to call me so I would report them. He then hung up.
