I said I didn't know I had washing machine insurance and the female voice (Marie/Maria) said she would send me the details through the post. I wait with bated breath ... This woman sounded very businesslike as she blatantly lied to me. Grrr

Caller said he was from Home Appliance Care. He addressed me by a false name I had given to a "lifestyle survey company" some time ago. He told me his records show that as my washing machine warranty was about to expire he would renew it. When I asked him where he got my details from he terminated the call. The number was not recognised when I dialled it. How can you trust a company which spoofs its telephone number.

Government HMRC claiming and left voice mailing stating they are taking me to the County Court and I should call them. I called them and very noisy and not English speaking voice. Wanted my name, address and DoB. I put the phone down and they have called twice since. As I do not owe HMRC any monies, assume this is a scam. Can they not be stopped?
Called - no message on answerphone. Haven't be with Talk Talk for years, so in view of other comments, must have number from previous data breaches!
