Caller said NI number has been compromised. Asked to call their legal department. Not trusted to be legitimate.

It was a Northumbria Water call alert about a leak in the area. A visit to the website confirmed that there was a local problem. (Why can't these companies publish the numbers they use to make calls?)

this number called my daughter s (underage) phone. she has started getting "unknown" calls. don t know how. she is on pay as you go and her number is not linked to any website, she doesn t key it in to any "enquiries". "Looks like a premium rate number" Sorry, but you re mistaken. 01, 02, 03 are all classed as national rate calls (apart from Channel Islands, Isle of Man) and 03xxx are business numbers. 0845 and 0870 numbers very widely being changed to 0345 and 0370 numbers so they are included in most calls packages (including from mobiles). Only 1899.com and 18185 (cheap call services when dialling using those prefixes before a number) are not including 03x
