So if you bought something somewhere online that required your number chances are you inadvertently opted in. They use a network of local numbers to seem reputable. The liverpool branch specialises in road traffic accident. They ll fish about for details asking you that they were informed a car accident was reported by your household within the last 2.5-3 years. The point of the scam is to find gullible people who will believe what they say. They are crooks who once they find a victim will ask them for personal details and /or credit card/bank details "So we can proceed with our refund to you" They then commit identity fraud or empty your bank account. Obviously you were the ones they were looking for for them to steal your hard earned money from. These people called concerning PPI. I was foolish enough to reply STOP and it charged my 50 pence. Clearly, this is a scam and these people must be stopped before they de-fraud more users.
