I was called today ostensibly to discuss cover for the new phone I d bought. I haven t and when I told the caller I hadn t, he got off the line pretty sharpish. BUT what is disconcerting, is that I now have to start exploring whether I m the victim of identity theft...just in case. I could honestly do without this.

When I asked who was calling, she replied with the company name, which I didn t catch, and that it was in connection with our washing machine warranty. Our machine is about 14 years old, so the warranty ran out years ago! Number now blocked.

I was not convinced by their offer - independent financial review of pension with free legal adviser present? she said they had been set up by the Industry in light of all of the complaints. Keep calling, started just after 9am and have called 5 more times by 3.30pm. I have left the call to an answerphone as I don t recognise the number, they are not leaving any message - it goes to the machine, and either you get background noise (call centre?) or silence. I have no catalogue accounts, so they have no reason to phone - from all comments, assuming that this is a scam. I am getting a call guardian phone this month, can t wait to be able to block all the stuff like this. Total nuisance!!
