Scam call - recorded message stating Amazon and international transactions had been made on my credit card, then asks you to press options 1 or 2 to sort it out,
I was out all day dealing with a crisis which meant I went 23 hours before I got to bed. I found this number had called me. Out of courtesy I rang back in the morning, as I had been expecting someone important to call and wondered whether it was the person I wanted it to be. All I got was a recorded message which started off by congratulating me because I had been specially selected and needed to press a button to find out what it was. Unprofessional sounding people with heavy Indian accent and English Christian names (Mark, Mary, etc) purporting to be Virgin Media concerned wether on best package.
Indian sounding male with very broken English. After the fourth time of asking I finally managed to decipher that he said he was calling from BT Openreach. When I said 'OK I understand now' there was a long pause as if he didn't know what to say next. I could hear someone in the background also saying 'This is BT Openreach'. When I asked him what he was calling about he just kept repeating 'This is BT Openreach'. I asked him if he had lost his script......and he rang off.
