Bank scam - avoid like the plague

SCAM Someone passing themselves off as Business Energy Direct. It certainly isn’t them, they are based in Rotherham which is an 01709 number and none of their staff are Asian so don’t have Asian accents.

SCAM I was out when this number called. They did not leave a message on my answer phone but the number was recorded on my incoming call information system. Using a recall system it was found the number had become non-existent and was therefore no longer traceable. This would indicate that it is from a SCAM telephone number/company. Fraud Pretending to be from Sky technical department and that my router was giving me problems.. it was sometimes fast and sometimes slow, (aren’t they all ?) anyway, I told him I didn’t have a router, so he asked if I had a cell phone, I told him no, then the call ended.. probably trying to find someone else with a dodgy router. !

Text Message claimed to be missed delivery with a link to Evrie imitation site. Asks for your details on first page including date of birth then on next page says there is a small redelivery charge for new time slot and asks for credit card details. Beware, all the makings of a scam to get your card details.

Called me claiming to be Fido cell Carrier. That my service would be discontinued that day. It’s a scam, don’t fall for it.

Automated caller with female voice claiming charges made to VISA account, one of around £700 and another of £900 from earlier in the day. Prompts the caller to press '1' to cancel the charges. Would appear to be a scam and would strongly recommend not pressing 1 and hanging up and blocking the number,
