This number sent me a message saying my o2 payment had failed and to try again. Link took me to a fake o2 account sign in page. I am not with o2 so clearly an attempt to harvest sign in details.
It was a Northumbria Water call alert about a leak in the area. A visit to the website confirmed that there was a local problem. (Why can't these companies publish the numbers they use to make calls?)

Actually sounded very plausible. Knew my name and address. Said that my washing machine cover had run out. Couldn't remember when I bought it but didn't think that it was over a year and thought I had 5 year manu's warranty (checked afterwards & correct on both counts). Company was APS or something.
