Got a call today from a foreign woman claiming to be from "Consumer Lifestyles" asking me to do a survey on my "lifestyle" ie shopping habits, likes and dislikes, all the usual crap to illicit personal details from you and even how to stop unwanted calls!! Fraud - Recorded message stating there was a tax fraud in my name and I needed to press 1 to be connected to HMRC. If I did not press 1 it threatened that a warrant would be issued and I would be arrested. I did not press 1 as felt this was not an appropriate way for HMRC to contact people in relation to this type of matter.

This unknown number has been calling me for days before I got the chance to finally answer. I didn t understand the man s name nor from which company he was calling, but he said something to the effect that I d get a refund for the bank charges I allegedly paid over the past few years. He then asked me about some personal information that he needed for the transaction. Seems like a scam - I wouldn t answer and just hung up.

Left voice mail claiming to be HMRC and that there was a warrant for my arrest unless I pressed 1 for a call back
Said that because they’d refunded an overpayment that my account may show in arrears and I may receive an automated letter due to this error. They will remove it but wanted to let me know that they may not be able to stop the letter. If they’re making this many calls for this reason they should probably just have sent an email to everyone!
