SCAM of some kind - this person says her name is Olivia and has called 10 times over the last few days. Says she's calling from Virgin Media Technical department, when challenged she hangs up. Originally asked me to give information on my internet and how many devices I own.

This company is a debt collector. When they called me last month I rang them back and gave them all my info and they confirmed they had no record of debt at any of my previous addresses or under my name. I asked them if they would be so kind as to remove my number being that I had no debt or business with this company and they were happy to do so. Received a whatsapp this morning whilst at work. One word "Hello". A name Amanda ***** came up on screen. I did not reply. Have no idea as to who this person is. Don't particularly want to know either. Blocked. Name now off screen, but the following number displayed. +44 7984 454239.
Called from this number asking about my "Microsoft product" very agressive when I said I could not switch on my machine at this time. Very strong accent, difficult to understand. When I asked where they were calling from she just got cross and told me my laptop wouldn t work if I didn t switch it on now!

This number called twice. I answered both times but no-one spoke. As the no. didn t correspond to any in my address book, I checked it out with you. Will now block number but concerned as to how they got my number in the first place, and hope they are not able to access my contact details in the phone.

Message sent claiming to be my child and to block their old number and text this new number from now on. I asked which child and was told to guess... amazingly I guessed the name correctly! (even though I have no kids). I'm guessing this long lost child would probably eventually ask for some money or something...

Only wanted to speak to owner of business. When asked about his company he gave the company name. When I asked what they did he spoke to me as if I was stupid and said "we finance Companies". When I said we were ok thanks he sneered as me and said "yeh right", so I said goodbye and hung up. Whatever they are trying to sell they will get no customers with that attitude. Do not answer unless you want to be spoken down to.

After this lookup I have blocked the number as it looks like another case of blocks of telephone numbers being sold offto con men. This number traced back to be from Ghaziabad Uttar Pradesh in India. I really wish whoever allows these call centres, confidence tricksters and plain old Criminals to purchase these blocks of numbers could be reprimanded and even charged with aiding and abetting whatever crime they are used for.
