At 6.30 this evening we had a call from 01934425400 with nobody speaking when we answered the phone.

SCAM Fraud Banking Firstly, a test message was received on a mobile saying it was the Fraud department of a Credit Card company and they would be calling about “recent activity from your card. Expect a call from our Fraud team. Please wait for our call”. That was followed 2mins later by a phone call to the same mobile number saying it was from 02071934897 (London). Not a number associated with a Credit Card company! The male caller asked for the additional card holder by name but hadn’t called that person

Called this number back & she claimed to be from HMRC who apparently have served me with two warrants around miscalculation of Tax. They apparently called at my home on two occasions during lockdown when I was home and not allowed to leave me house. She was very plausible, giving me a name, badge number and warrant ref numbers. SCAM sounded like a genuine call from Virgin Media about internet problems. Said their server had been receiving errors from my hub. Suspicious when they started asking me what apps I ran on my phone. Even more suspicious when they wanted me to download remote control software so they 'could show me the problem ' Noticeable change in tone when I said I was an IT professional. Hung up the phone and called Virgin who confirmed they'd never ask someone to download software.

Complete bull as payment has never been made to this company (or anything similar), the date simply is when our business was incorporated so freely available information.
