My 81 year old father was targeted and asked to insure his 4 year old Indesit washing machine. Unwittingly he set up a d.debit which he cancelled the next day, with the bank, when he realised he already had cover. He rang Appliance Serve and told them too, he was asked to put it in writing which he did. He is now getting calls about his non payment and they are threateneing court action as they said they hadn t received a phone call or letter. Total fraudsters targeting the elderly. #scammers

Having previously had nuisance calls from similar numbers, I picked up the phone but I didn t speak. The caller remained silent and then hung up.
I am unfortunately on some mailing list that means I am bombarded with calls from people telling me I can make a fortune using their binary trading platforms - begs the question that if they are so brilliant why are the telemarketers working for what is likely to be a relatively poor hourly rate when they could be investing their own time making a fortune from the schemes they are trying to sell....
