Caller came across as unprofessional, and spouting rubbish - did not appear to be completely clear on why she was calling (though appeared to have harvested my number from a long-lapsed source). Came across as a deeply untrustworthy blagger, probing for details and trying to create an opening for marketing / similar junk. Number reported, as I am signed up to the TPS.

He then refused to give me their contact details, saying he needed to give me the saving first, and would give me their details if I was interested; I told him I wouldn t know if I was interested until I knew to whom I was talking, when he said that if I didn t trust him (too right!) that was alright - and hung up. Dialled the number and it isn t recognised.

Call from a telephone blocking service. He asked if I received nuisance calls. I said yes plenty but he didn t understand the irony and pressed on with his script. I asked where he was based. He said 70 Margaret Street London which is the HQ of the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) (Note that the caller was NOT from the TPS). I asked him the name of the nearest underground station at which point he terminated the call.

My 81 year old father was targeted and asked to insure his 4 year old Indesit washing machine. Unwittingly he set up a d.debit which he cancelled the next day, with the bank, when he realised he already had cover. He rang Appliance Serve and told them too, he was asked to put it in writing which he did. He is now getting calls about his non payment and they are threateneing court action as they said they hadn t received a phone call or letter. Total fraudsters targeting the elderly. #scammers
