Told me that someone had used my card in the last half hour for £600. ....Scammers.

Call supposed to have come from Microsoft Windows. Caller was asking about error reports we had sent - we hadn t. My partner took the call and, being savvy, did not give away any information. The caller ended the call himself with a thank you, goodbye.

This is the same company "CA services" or "C A Services" that his mate calls from. They share the same phone scrambler which generates these random numbers....

Recorded message claiming to be HMRC stating that it was taking me to court, and to press option 1 to speak to my case officer. Ridiculous scam, presumably trying to get my name, address and NI number. No government department would ever contact anyone in this way, and certainly never leave a message that inflammatory.

One of those you have had an road traffic accident that is not your fault. I asked were they got my details and they said "road accidents and safety statistics", I then said "surely that data is anonymised", at they she said OK and put the phone down.

This is the negative balance team from Paypal (See https://www.paypal-community.com/t5/Subscriptions/Paying-an-outstanding-recurring-payment/td-p/1000315 as an example). This team will call Paypal customers if a payment on their account has been paid by paypal but not by the funding source, creating a negative balance. The account holder has 45 days to deal with the issue, before Paypal go to the funding source to ask for the money on a "Chargeback" basis. Legitimate caller if you have a paypal account

I only entered the competition for the iPad because it came up on accuweather which I ve been using for a while and is a bona fide site. I then got a message saying I was now entered in a weekly draw for ?4.50 per week. I then received 3 messages which I was charged ?3.83 for. ?+44 844 357 0364? This number keeps calling and leaving voicemails with are automated claiming the are HMRC. If it was HMRC it would not be automated. When called back they state they are HMRC and ask for my phone number I said if you were HMRC you would not be asking me that, they said sorry made a mistake and hung up. big warning signs this is a SCAM!

Definitely a call from a scammer. These calls use spoofed numbers, originate outside the UK and are untraceable. DO NOT GIVE ANY INFORMATION to a caller. NEVER RETURN A CALL ...
