Rang today claiming to be from the British Gas metering team. I asked them to prove it by providing my account number. Gave me a string of numbers - not my account number. Foreign accent.

Although it appears to be a Fakenham landline, it was a recorded message claiming to be from Visa. Claimed my card had been used to purchase goods from Amazon and Western Union. I hung up

Received a scam call from this number leaving a voicemail: £700 from Amazon and 2nd charge 2000 pound through international money transfer website. We believe this is to be a suspicious and unauthorized transfer that you have never been done before in the past from your card. SCAM Automated message said it was Inland Revenue and that I hadn't paid my taxes. To avoid a court date and possible jail time press 1 to speak to an agent. A trace says the number originates in Russia. No chance I believe any of that rubbish.

Caller from this number stated that hmrc were giving back tax paid on ppi claims. I was due over £6000! Proceeded to ask me help to fill R40 form, my date of birth and then my national insurance number. At that point I asked her to send me the form as I didn't want to give my details. I think this could be a scam.

Got a call from this number and a woman left a voicemail and she knew who I was and my bank, Halifax. She asked me to call her back on 07823 445 999 which is an invalid number.

Said he was phoning about how we pay our energy bill. Asked for full name,address,DOB,to confirm my identity! I held back and did not supply details as I suspected the call could be a scam. He offered to send an email (knew my email address) and then phone back. I told him to call in an hour as I was busy. No email received and he has not called back. When I checked this number on 'who called me' it made me super-glad I didn't fall for it. This is the most sophisticated scam call I have received - BEWARE !!
