I was called by this number at 08:18 this morning by someone claiming to be "Amazon Prime" (recorded message) and invited to be transferred to cancel a subscription ('press 1'). The person then asked for my details and, when questioned, told me that it is not possible to contact Amazon directly or my bank over this. The conversation stank so I discontinued the call.

Although the number is a London number it would appear it is redirected from a foreign country as the language was not great and any question I asked was answered with a repeated line stating the deal they were offering and not actually answering my question. This sis a very conincing dangerous scam pretending to be fro Royal Mail and using all their logos. They state they could not deliver a package today but they had already been. It then asks for £1.75 to re-deliver. Don't be sucked in.SCAM

Known scam 0845 and 0843 numbers call for a second or two. They rely on you to call back as the number looks official. You are then played a recorded message that is designed to keep you on the line as the call is charged at over a £1 per minute. So you end up paying for the scam and your phone company probably won't help as you made the call willingly.
