Called this number back & she claimed to be from HMRC who apparently have served me with two warrants around miscalculation of Tax. They apparently called at my home on two occasions during lockdown when I was home and not allowed to leave me house. She was very plausible, giving me a name, badge number and warrant ref numbers. Claims to be a company called UK Talks. Definitely suspicious if not scam or fraudulent. Website does not show numbers which call. The numbers they call from frequently change, the latest being this number. 01997 280702 is also one currently used by them. 01212 840668 used to be theirs but is now discontinued. Noone has my mobile number, and it nevers rings but today it did after i did apply for a new PAYG Sim Card for free from what i thought was genuine o2 web page advertising. If they are genuine and it s a courtesy call then fine, otherwise these could be scamartists trying to confirm your details by tricking you into surrending them online thinking its for a free sim card and cloning o2 s advertising website style. Be careful!
