Telemarketing- seemed to know all my details (address and full name). I expressed i could not take the phone call as i was working but they pushed me to take the call. They asked me to verify my details and then rattled off some speech about how i may be contacted by someone in the future. I said no to this and she just repeated the statement. Had a call from the CIB wanting me to do a survey. Fourth one in a week and all from different numbers. Guy would not take no about the dumb ass survey so terminated the call.
Answered call and a young man asked to speak with me by name in regard to private pensions, when he found that I was already retired & receiving a state pension, he said sorry for troubling me and ended the call.

The call purpoting to be from HM Revenue dept was suspicious. The correct name Her Majesty s Revenue and Customs, commonly abbreviated as HMRC never initiate communication by telephone, only by letter. Call not returned.

I tried to book a room at The Principal Oxford Spires Hotel, Abingdon Road, OX1 4PS, Oxford and called a number 08448542910 indicated on their website. I had to call twice as there was an automated telephone service and no one was able to answer my phone calls. Last month I saw a charge of 1.38 GBP plus VAT on my phone bill!! What a wrong way to make money!! Looks like the hotel is doing that badly so they have to charge potential customers to simply book a room. According to the reviews on the above number

Received a phone call from this number today citing consumer services and something about a refund due to an overpayment on a loan taken out within the last 12 years ( I haven t). I asked him for details on this loan and he questioned me back asking well haven t you? . I retorted back well you tell me since you re the one here calling me. He hung up. I call back and the same guy picks up and trys to pretend it was a colleague I had spoken to. He then hangs up again. Avoid this number people.
