This was a totally unsolicited call to a 95 year old woman who is receiving personal care. Gave her great distress and worry

FRAUD - claimed to be from Amazon regarding my Prime renewal. An Amazon customer service assistant confirmed it wasn t them.

Was obviously working through a phone book since they asked for the ex village hall secretary by name - the number had been listed as a personal number in error. Our number is registered with telephone preference service to stop wasting our time and money

This was the telephone number given to me by a self-proclaimed "Microsoft engineer" as the legitimate number for a "Microsoft Windows Service Provider" in Oxford. Calling about an accident I had. Told me they got my number from the Road Traffic Accident Unit. I asked if it was about my fatal accident. They sussed I wasn t dead

When answered automated service states barclays and other bank customers etc entitled to ppi etc. when you ring back an automated nessage answers the phone saying about pension entitlments, if you press 9 apparently your number gets put on their do not contact list.
