Wanted to send a verification number that I was not to share with anyone else "even 02 staff". Hung up when they realised I wasn't falling for it - I strung them along for at least a few minutes.

07401878848 is a mobile phone number at an indian call centre, i traced it back through the network. Someone pretending to be from amazon stating that my details have been used to order some high value items and that to cancel it i would have to do as they instructed. They wanted remote access to my computer/tablet/phone so they could steal my data. The idiots didn't realise that they had phoned an it company. when i informed them of their mistake they hung up.

You then get further harassment calls from them trying to "give your computer back" so they can gain further access/exploit more cash from you. Key targets are older or vulnerable people. Be safe.

Sales call / this is a call from SD of Verkada Limited - a tech company selling security cameras etc. It will likely be related to an email whereby it is suggested he will be "in your area" next week. Of course he doesn't know where you are and in the absence of matter-transportation will not be there. It's an unsolicited sales call and not very clever. I received a text from this number saying my apple pay was temporarily deactivated, and a link to reactivate it. Upon clicking the link I was then asked for my name, address and date of birth, and then got suspicious when asked for my full card details. Quick look on google found it is a know scam. Beware.
