"Industrial Workers Union" scam from Derby had been ringing me daily for around three weeks. Finally gave in to temptation and picked up. "We re totally legit" and "a government body" the man said. Basically boiled down to cold calling people on a tradesman database looking to get money out of past employers for supposed hearing loss. These people are the scum of the earth and the reason this country is going down the tubes. Get a real job before it s too late! Don t trust anyone that asks for more details

SCAM Received an automated message from this number, claiming to be HM Revenue and Customs, threatening "legal consequences" if they didn't hear back from me or my solicitor. The voice sounded like a basic text-to-speech engine, so doubtful anyone would fall for this, but wanted to leave this note seeing as no one else has yet.

To the guy who gave a positive review: cold calling private numbers is a major problem. Even If you did get a good deal on your insurance, these people have no right to be calling people randomly and trying to sell. It s an invasion of privacy, full stop.

I've been receiving repeated calls from numbers in the range +44 1892 502868-887 for around 10 days now, several times a day. Often the calls stops ringing after just one ring. No voicemails have been left. When I try to call back I get a recorded message saying 'this person's phone is currently available, please try later'. I cannot find the owner of any of these numbers online.
Silent call for 33 seconds. Could hear background noise, but they did not respond to anything I said ... just hung up on me.

Telemarketing I have just had a call fro 07711 421182 with a far-eastern sounding chap with bad english trying to tell me against a background of lots of other people doing the same thing, that he wanted to "help me with [my] investments". I couldn't make out his explanation of how he got my number but anyone working for a firm that doesn't use landlines is not for me. It wasn't selling he insisted. Of course not.
