TAXES / HMRC - recorded message saying have hmrc tax fraud lodged against my name and to press 1 to be put through to officer assigned to my case. Didn't bother as had similar last year regarding supposed unpaid tax which freaked me out and I fell for it but eventually ignored the 2nd call. Have now blocked number. Glasgow area

A girl called me from 01792764700 first. Then passed me onto 01792764700. I told them I have doubt about the call because the girl got my union number wrong by 1 digit and I said I would call them in the office instead. They haven t called me since a week ago. I call the first number, there was no ring tone. The second number did put me thro to an operator but I hung up. I find it a bit suspicious as they claimed to be calling on behalf of the union Unite. Caller asked for me by name, saying he was from Forte Healthcare. I didn t confirm my name, but I did say that our number is ex directory and registered with the Telephone Preference Service, and that he shouldn t be calling. He said that our number would be removed from their lists. I terminated the call by stating that I would report it to the Information Commissioner. By other comments on various forums, definitely untrustworthy.
