Another PPI scam
SCAM This was a call from a Asian male who stated he works for Carphone warehouse in West London. He stated that he was given my number because he was given my details by either Three, Vodaphone, EE, 02 and lebara. He stated that there was a contract with these organisation that granted Carphone warehouse the contact details of the customers of the above networks. I questioned him about how he was able to obtain my number, but he was unable to provide any information on how he obtained it legally.
This is apparently a lottery syndicate. They wanted me to set up a direct debit of £39/month. It started from a "win a free iPhone, guaranteed". They asked for my contact details, and then it became apparent that my details would be given to lots of companies. Then 02036346988 called me. This is apparently a syndicate of 150 people and you get 75 lines per week, in the EuroMillions lottery. If you win nothing in any month, then you get a full refund of your £39. I realised that I was probably going to win s
accident compensation nonsense.
I had a missed call from this number on my mobile but no message left. Also similar number called me recently, probably the same marketing company? don't wanna call back since I do not know the number - it could be just a robocaller testing if my number is

Seems to be used for some telemarketing call center - this range of numbers 16181423xx (common feature, they use more numbers of the same range) is mostly reported with pensions, PPI, claims marketing. Just block it if not interested (I use the app from these pages, no problems). Guys did they call you with the same or something new? I really don't answer unknown numbers and don't want to call them back...

I received a letter from Hastings Direct saying my car had been involved in an accident 6 months ago. I got suspicious as it didn t have any details of my car on the form. I called and was told line busy. I hung up after 30 seconds. I wonder how much that cost me. Great scam. Letter got my attention. Actually continued to voicemail with silent call, glad I didn't use facility to call back but checked app instead! They rang again to voicemail with garbled speech, this time I missed it and rang back, as soon as they asked to confirm my name I realised and refused them. Very persistent!
