Automated call from “my internet service provider” stating that illegal activity has been detected on my account and my service would be disconnected within 24-48 hours….Then gave me a load of options…press 1, press 2…etc presumably to get me to speak to someone so that they could access money in some form or other. Claimed to be investigating utility companies, looking at their website they've clearly got lots of other things going on. This was a sales call not an investigation.

I think there was a hard sell coming but I didn't wait that long... Don't answer this number, this company wants to part you with your money.

Looked like the usual nuisasance call when I saw the number. I tried calling back but recieved a auto message saying the number was not in service!

If you text stop back to numbef it doesn t work the website is fake. My mobile provider did not want tk know till I informed them I had spoken to the police and cancelled my direct debit. Claiming to be from Opus saying that another business had received our meter reading on their bill and were complaining about the high amount they were being asked to pay. Given that our electricity usage is very low, this doesn't seem a likely scenario. Could not satisfactorily answer why if they had made a meter reading cock-up it was anything to do with us. Why would we need to be involved at all? Told them I was suspicious of the call and hung up.
