called my 84 year old mother today mentioning landlines and HSBC. She's been made very aware of scams so he didn't get anywhere, but hasn't come up in any scam searches so a miniscule chance it could have been legit. Won't put money on that though

I have had numerous calls from this number over the last few months and ignored them but this time I phoned back (with-held number of course)and the female answered with what sounded like Vidicom Basics. signed up for www.compareni.com for car insurance quotes. About a minute after the comparison results came up on screen, the phone rang. Also got an email thanking me for taking insurance with Hughes. No call for this nonsense.

It is a scam and we did transfer money but stopped order..all the amounts are for just over 2k paid into our account and we transferred just under 2k back into their bank. you ll see the money go into your account then they re desperate for you to pay the overpaid balance, they then cancel the dodgy cheaque within 2 days...Don t do it, the tel number is bogus and so is the address...

Now found out who was calling and it was genuine! I ignored it because of all the other 07903 calls I’ve had. Just shows how damaging the scammers can be.
