Had a few of these calls recently from different numbers. They will ask a random question like "We hear you have been having problems in your house, is that true?" or "Hello you have won blah blah blah" and then immediately hang up. I think this is a possible scam, I think they want you to call them back. - Block the number and forget about them.
Just been rung on 01273 655031 about my washing machine and fridge freezer insurance taken out last May for £154 in my sons name at our address. He has not lived here for over 10 years. Knew it was a scam so said i would renew but just needed to get my card. Kept him waiting 5 minutes then read out totally made up card. He said there must be some digits wrong. Fraud: Claiming to be the UK Refund Department, telling me my name and number have been listed as due a PPI refund of nearly £4,000. When I tried to stop her talking and explain that I am not entitled to PPI refund, having never had PPI, she continued to reel off her blurb. When she finally heard me, she stated that I did not need PPI to get the refund??? I asked for my name and number to be removed from the database. She continued the blurb.
