Some have said possibly 02 call centre - would have thought they would have a bit of respect at this time, especially on a weekend. I have had two calls 8th & 10th Sept. - Advice is to never answer calls unless number known to yourselves.
This telephone number appears to be from Microsoft about a security breach. Microsoft tell me that it is NOT from them, and is a scam.
Scam. Recorded call on my mobile about how I haven't paid my taxes and am in trouble. Heard about this from friends in North America, but now it is here in the UK!

Pretended to be from Starling Bank and asked me to confirm a very large online payment. When I refused he became abusive. Sounded quite credible initially and from a well spoken English accent.
Foreign sounding pre-recorded message about a substantial VISA debitcard transaction. Obvious scam - messages from banks, etc do not usually start "Dear Customer". Use of an apparently local number is clearly an attempt to give it some credibility.

Recorded message claiming to be from 'bank security' (bank unidentified) telling me of two transactions of £300 and £1100 made using my 'card' (also unidentified) and asking a for a number to be pressed for further information. Can only describe this as an unsolicited call to my mobile from a person of ethnic decent in a call centre.Asked for me by name new about a previous accident last November also about outstanding issue.Claimed to be from ABI about how my Insurance company delt with the accident. SPAM: I don't know anyone in OMAGH, N. Ireland. When I answered there seemed to be no one there, then a male voice said 'Hello?' - so I said 'Petunias?' and he put the phone down on me. (I never say 'Hello' or 'Yes' but say a word like 'Petunias' to confuse the caller. It seems to work!)

A SCAM - be very careful as the person on the phone will try to get you to download a programme called "anydesk.com" which gives remote access to your computer. In my case the person said he was from SKY and was checking on my report on bad internet signal (that part was true). He took me through a few dialogue boxes (thankfully I knew that I was not changing settings). He then tried to get me to download the programme. Thankfully I questioned it. He hung up. The number he called from was 02036
