I was called by this number at 08:18 this morning by someone claiming to be "Amazon Prime" (recorded message) and invited to be transferred to cancel a subscription ('press 1'). The person then asked for my details and, when questioned, told me that it is not possible to contact Amazon directly or my bank over this. The conversation stank so I discontinued the call.

They said they were calling from HMRC, however HMRC never calls mobile numbers. Phone scams are a common way for criminals to con people out of money using various tricks to get your personal or financial information. I got a call from this number regarding PPI. I told the caller I wasnt interested & put the phone down. He then RANG ME BACK & demanded to know why Id hung up on him when I hadnt heard what he had to say. I told him I still wasnt interested but he persisted so I just kept saying ovet & over Im not interested until he lost his temper & hung up. Victory for me!!!
