They hung up without speaking a few seconds after I answered. I suspect an insurance scam after reading comments on here coupled with an attempted fraud on my insurance a few years ago. They are based in Manchester where my broker is and I live in the south. Draw your own conclusions.
When you answer your phone and if it s a number you don t recognise, DON T SPEAK JUST LISTEN! Wait for the caller to speak first and then decide whether to simply put the phone down. If it s a recorded message, it ll nearly always be a scam or a computer dialling a batch of numbers in sequence and trying to assertain if the number they have just dialled is a voice line. i.e. a private phone number. Automated message from someone claiming to be from BT and that they were about to disconnect my landline due to activity on the line. They then asked me to press 1 to get in contact with CEO. Sounds very dodgy to me so hung up!
A company called PPI Checker also uses this phone number. It shows as international. I asked the company name, which they gave and they also gave me their phone number!! but when I asked for their address, they put the phone down.

Hung up and rung number back to get message "you have dialled a incorrect number". 99% certain this is a scam. None of my cards have this area code for card enquiries .
