I’ve just received a call from an automated voice (08979 041 013) telling me that my IP address has been compromised from several countries and will be disconnected in the next 24 hours. Asking me to press ‘1’ to confirm blah blah blah – obviously I did not do this and I assume this is a scam of some sort – thought I best let you know!

I had a call from this number today, i answered the phone but no one spoke and they hung up. I tried to ring the number but all i get is Access denied. I have call saint installed so this number will go onto my block list. A wonderful bit of tech is call saint will block your unwanted numbers, i must have block at least 30 number by now. I do not get may unwanted calls any more, just the odd one now and then. But then i just block them as well.
Call center The guys represent themselves as being from the 3 promotions team. Although the number is a London number it would appear it is redirected from a foreign country as the language was not great and any question I asked was answered with a repeated line stating the deal they were offering and not actually answering my question. Yes, this is an automated "appointment verification" call from Cambridgeshire NHS (Addenbrookes) to verify and offer you options on an appointment that you or someone in your family has booked. All automated, like voter registration - "Press 1", "Press 2", etc. System will ring you several times in attempts to get answered. Ringing back on 1 Nov 2013 got me an automated answer and then switched me to the verify options. Very clever system, really - set up NOT to work with answering machines (pointless). Not

First Assist from York called today, Asked to speak to me (using my FULL NAME), asked who was calling! He said his name David and calling from First Direct and ringing about the injuries I received in the accident I had last year . . cut him short to ask him for his mothers phone number, he ask why. Told him so I could get my son to ring her up and tell her what a con merchant her son is. TOTAL SILENCE . . when to tried to speak again cut him off. Now blocked.
