This number is from AO.COM (Appliances on Line) and is likley to be with regard to a recent purchase and/or expired warranty of an applicance such as a Fridge, Dishwasher, Washing Machine etc. They will try to sell you an extened warranty etc

Just had this number call (Liverpool code, with non-geographical sub-code 808) - but I never pick up the phone. Worst thing you can do, as it confirms to the other end yours is a proper phone number which will now be sold on to every piece of scum in the known universe. This explains the silent treatment from any real person (low-lifeform) at the other end. Let the phone ring until the other end gets fed up and ends the call, then dial 1471 and note down the number. The point of the scam is to find gullible people who will believe what they say. They are crooks who once they find a victim will ask them for personal details and /or credit card/bank details "So we can proceed with our refund to you" They then commit identity fraud or empty your bank account.
