The point of the scam is to find gullible people who will believe what they say. They are crooks who once they find a victim will ask them for personal details and /or credit card/bank details "So we can proceed with our refund to you" They then commit identity fraud or empty your bank account. I live in Madrid (Spain). I have a Spanish mobile number. I have received a call from this number and I suspect they want my email address just to get the association between my phone number and my email address, who knows why... Maybe to try to hack my email box and my bank accounts users...
I had a call from 0161 524 5263 but the caller rang off before I could get to my phone. Within seconds the phone rang again, this time showing 020 4538 7049. I thought it all must be some sort of scam so didn't answer and no messages were left.

Woman with a foreign accent called purporting to be from British Telecom and referring to my Internet connection. I did not let her proceed any further and indicated that I did not have the Internet. She apologised and turn up. I tested the number and it it does not exist, according to the message. Another scam I suspect.

I ve been getting regular calls from these scum. This number is now dead. Instead they re getting in via the web and it s coming up on my phone as 001036.
This number claimed he was from citizens advice then changed to another company and said I had unpaid debts. When I asked I’m where he got my details he said I needed to tell him my exact debt number and said I was wasting his time and said I should seek help for my mental health issues. Do not answer.
