Telemarketing/survey from Beneficial, I have had many calls from this 'group' and find them very annoying. Repeatedly requested that my number be removed from their list yet they still phone me, so I block their numbers!
Something to do with life insurance and how I'm likely entitled to more. Told them I was moving countries and the guy swiftly got off the phone with me, though that may have been down to my boyfriend making random noises in the background... The guy with a Geordie accent knew my first name. Don't bother answering.

Missed call, your identification as a solicitors number is of no use to me and completely unexpected, so it must be some sort of phishing or scam call. Having had calls from India, from supposed UK numbers, I suspect that some sort of fake number hack may be the cause. Using a VOIP system makes the originators true telephone number unavailable. These VOIP suppliers need to double check the purpose of their clients and prevent scams over the VOIP service they provide.

TAXES / HMRC Caller said I had some money coming back to me from HMRC. I asked for their details and could they send it to my email so I can look at things. They wanted me to confirm who I was, but I don't give any of my details over the phone. I asked again to send me details and he said I see what I can do, he then put the phone down. Definitely scam

Upon answering a call on the land line around 18:30 this evening, the caller hung up so out of curiosity I dialled 1471 (UK), the call back service and I pressed 3 on my phone to be put directly through to the missed call number. I didn t catch the receivers company name but heard a American or maybe Canadian Man s accent and instructions for extension required. They called me four times in the last two days. No message. I gather it is a faked number by a company trying to gain personal and health information in the guise of a survey.
Caller claimed to be from Amazon regarding a subscription charge for their Prime service valued at £199. Then asked me to press 1 if I needed to speak with an service colleague. I didn’t respond and have blocked the number.

This number came up on a pop up box when trying to install a new version of Microsoft Office on a Mac. It said you needed to ring the number for help or you would lose the product. This is not the case and this company has no affiliation with Microsoft. It is a scam to get your credit card info and gain access to your computer. Run a separate Google search and ring Microsoft’s real helpline number if this happens to you. If you’ve already given them access to your computer ring Action Fraud.
