Shore Claims called my 90 year old mother, saying that she was paying too much council tax and they could get her a refund. She has pension credit, so is exempt from council tax, but in her confusion, must have given her card number. She says they sounded

Absolutely disgusting. I have been harassed by this number ever since I had an accident that has now in fact been settled. I have received verbal abuse from a vile man who claims to work for stratton legal. I will be reporting this number to the police.

Whoever they ask for tell them to remove your number and do not confirm any information with whatsoever; it will be sold to others even if you answer no to questions like "have you had an endowment policy" (see another post elsewhere online. They will call from a spoofed London number but seem to have call centres all over the place. DON'T ring this number back, its another SCAM that the government are let happening and once again doing nothing towards stopping these nuisance calls. The message tells you that you've won an amount of money. When you ring back it gives you options how to get your winnings, then that's when yo8phone bill goes higher and higher.

FRAUD ‘phone call from +44 2083684454 (This call originates from a bit of pavement in Trafalgar Square, Central London!) It’s a scam telling you of an “unauthorised” VISA payment on your account. (Even if you don’t have a VISA account! It encourages you to press 1 to speak to an adviser (someone will answer but however reassuring they are they DON’T work for VISA. They will keep you on the line while they empty your bank account after which, you’ll have lost all your money to them! DON’T press 1! Hang
