Caller said (with a very Asian accent)she was "Mary-Not-Selling just asking your opinion, ok?" I said it wasn t OK and hung up. I could have said that my opinion was that she was at best a nuisance, but more likely a con artist.
They called my friend, an automated voice possibly promoting a scam, pretending to be the UK Gov. Figured I'd report this here.

phoned at 0745 on a Saturday morning and didn't say anything.
SCAM - automated machine saying that they were BT and my account would be closed tomorrow if I didn't press 1. I hung up.

They usually mutter the company name although heard "family" mentioned. Have asked each time for my number to be removed from call list. Hmrc tax scam
Fraud - Recorded message stating there was a tax fraud in my name and I needed to press 1 to be connected to HMRC. If I did not press 1 it threatened that a warrant would be issued and I would be arrested. I did not press 1 as felt this was not an appropriate way for HMRC to contact people in relation to this type of matter.
