Absolute scam. Claimed to be from OpenReach told me they would switch the internet off for 72 hours as our IP address was public and it was a GDPR issue. When I told them to make our IP address private as they actually own the internet, they told me they couldn't. I had to run a software on my laptop to do it. Literally do not do anything they say!

Likely scam. They rang me. I picked up but didn't say anything into the phone. They didn't say anything either and then hung up. I always answer in this way when I receive an unexpected phone call from an unfamiliar number. Legitimate callers always say "hello" and try to get a response. Scammers hang up. It happens every time!

SCAM Some foreign (Indian as usual) scammer phoned and asked Mr (me by name) I answered yes and they said they were (English name, obviously made up and theirs for the day) and from Life Insurance. Then asked how I was doing and when I replied they just hung up. HOW RUDE! Pity really, as I pride myself on keeping them on the line as long as I can.

Mobile phone spam / scam / fraud. Scammers pretend to call from Currys Mobile department. They will sign you up on a completely different deal than agreed initially with the most expensive phone available. They use several phone numbers some of them on Whatsapp. Also will e-mail an order confirmation from an address that seems genuine. It's not. After receiving the parcel they will try to convince you to send the phone back to some shady residential address. Avoid!

Turned out to be an automated message claiming to be from VISA payments to say that my card had been charged £300 to Amazon and £1100 to Western Union, encouraged me to press 1 to dispute charges. Said it was a return number to contact PayPal on a suspicious email. It is not the number for PayPal given on their website. The number on their website is a landline number not a mobile number.
