SCAM claiming to be from amazon regarding a purchase i never made

I received a call from this number with an automated message saying that my National Insurance Number was at risk of being stopped -- erk, ok(!) It then prompted me to press 1 to speak to someone from a "Security Agency" to resolve it -- yeah, I don't think so somehow! I just hung up after that and blocked the number. Do not answer -- sounds dodgy as hell!

This number called and left no message on my mobile so I called it back from my work landline. It is a company who said they were calling me about my recent all inclusive holiday that I was due to get a refund from to be sent to my home address. Told her I hadn't had an all inclusive holiday and she said she would remove my details from the system - impossible since I didn't tell her who I was or gave my number.

I received a silent call to from this number and straight after that a call on my landline from someone saying to call from BT asking about my package. I answered he should already know my package and he said he just wanted to check whether I was using BT

Seems to be used for some telemarketing call center - this range of numbers 12696048xx (common feature, they use more numbers of the same range) is mostly reported with insurance marketing - Life Insurers 'Review Department'. Just block it if not interested (I use the app from these pages, no problems). Folks did they call you with the same or something new? I really don't answer unknown numbers and don't want to call them back...

Immediate update - I got an almost immediate reply to my emails and they say that although this is a one-off £10 charge for a 12-month reminder service for which they make it clear there is a charge (hmmmm) they will process an immediate refund via the Post Office. So easy that one can only infer that they receive many, many requests per day for refunds from people such as me who are totally unaware that they had signed up. Result! I emailed [email protected]

Said I hadn't yet actioned a pension review. I said that was my business and what did they actually want. They say they are offering the services of an independent financial advice. Said no thanks and hung up.
