Our number is registered with the TPS. This call came at 09:50 on Monday. Recorded (or synthesised) Northern English (Huddersfield?) male voice. Claimed to be calling from Amazon about illegal/suspicious "activity on your account", as a result of which a charge of over £1,000 to "the card linked to the account" had been stopped. Called asking for confirmation of my address to send details about investing in modern art - hung up when I told him no way was I going to confirm anything
This number called several times but left no message. As it was a local number I called back. It went straight to a recorded message & said I had been called by the NHS & would call back within 24 hrs. This is not an NHS number! My family are not under any hospitals or GPs for anything at this moment or indeed in several years. Other sites have this number reported as being untrustworthy.

Scam rings at least 4 times a week. Never answer unknown numbers. They never leave a message. Rang last night at 9.45pm and again this morning at 8am. Googled the number this morning and it comes up as private house in Sittingbourne. We do not know anyone in Sittingbourne.
Rang early this morning. No-one speaks.

Generally when there s a long pause before they answer, it s safe to say it s a call centre that I m going to have zero interest in talking to. Whistle loudly down the phone. They don t tend to call back again. ;)

SCAM!!!! Called me about my Virgin Media internet (I don't have Virgin Media BTW). She asked if she was talking to the account holder. Told her that for security purposes I wanted her to give me a small part of the name or address to make sure it wasn't a scam (which I already knew it was) And she hung up without even saying goodbye! Some scammers are just so damn rude these days! :-)

Scam, they pretend to be from Amazon and say they're confirming receipt of credit card payment for iphone. They then ask you to press 1 to speak to someone if you haven't made this payment. Just ignore the call, they're trying to get your card details so they can actually take money from you.
