No longer do I speak when I answer a number not familiar. If it's a cold call, they will speak first. If it's someone who knows me, they will speak if I don't. This one just hung up, so I can deduce it was an unsolicited and unwanted call and blocked them.
SCAM - pretend to be calling to book me for a conference at ExCel London in November because I have previously attended it before using a Manchester local number. SCAM call from a man with Asian accent who said he was BT Openreach. I asked him if there was a problem with my BT internet. He said yes, how did I know that? I said well why else would you be phoning me? He said it's been running very slow for the last few days to which I replied that it's come to a complete stop because I don't have BT internet. I then told him to do something that I won't repeat and hung up.

Messaged to inform me of a delivery I missed from EVRI. With a link to re-book a delivery time. I went to the official website to track my delivery, and the number on the message that the suspected scammer gave is not recognised. Also I checked my CCTV and no-one had tried to deliver anything.

Sales call / this is a call from SD of Verkada Limited - a tech company selling security cameras etc. It will likely be related to an email whereby it is suggested he will be "in your area" next week. Of course he doesn't know where you are and in the absence of matter-transportation will not be there. It's an unsolicited sales call and not very clever. Best avoid firms like this where they start with a lie.

This is a SCAM. The call started with a woman stating she was from Virgin Media and had noted problems with my router; asked if I had also noticed this. I said I hadn't. She said she could help me resolve the problem. I told her she couldn't, not least because I wasn't with Virgin Media. She told me she could help because all the providers' support centres were working together on this. I told her 'nice try' and hoped the weather was good in Delhi, or wherever she was 'phoning from. Then I hung up.
