Further to my last - it appears it was from an alarm monitoring company after I did some research. However, no message was left on voicemail to say this. Went and checked my Club - phew no break in but alarm box was showing a fault. So after initially thinking it was a spam call, good to see the alarm system works!

Boiler scammers - Simply answer the call and pretend to be interested in what they are offering. You will probably be passed to a "manager" who will arrange for someone to visit you. Go along with it, make the appointment and when the salesman turns up tell him you are not interested and have wasted their time because they are wasting yours by ignoring the law and cold calling you. They hate having their time wasted This has worked for me and gives you a great feeling of having got them back.

Said she had my bank details and gave me my card number first 4 digits and asked if I would confirm the rest and expiry date. I did this and then she asked for the number on the back. I declined and have now cancelled my card. Not sure if this is a scam but not prepared to take the chance.
