Called today @ 10:46 by an indian woman advising she was calling from nationwide bank. She asked me to confirm my postcode. When i asked what the call was regarding she repeated where she was calling from & asked about my postcode. I asked again what it was regarding as i dont have an account with nationwide then the line went dead. I tried to call it back to see if genuine but came up as invalid number.

They told me that the warranty on my Hotpoint washing machine had expired today and asked if I would like to take out a new Service agreement. I advised them not to begin a call with a lie. (My Hotpoint w/m is 2nd-hand and has no warranty.)

All day yesterday & 2 this morning, just get back ground noise eventually a woman's voice says"who,s that"

This is the UK version of a scam running amok in the US. The supposed company, microsoftechs.com, contacts people and claims there is an issue with their computer. The claim to be partnered with Microsoft and gain confidence with all the classic scam talk. If you do get scammed, they will access your computer via remote access, go through your email, install software and who knows what else. This is not a cold-caller. It is genuine, from a Gas Service Engineer.

We have had 3 calls within 5 mins, each person says that according to their industrial records I or a person at my address has worked in a factory in the past 20 years etc etc..... obviously they are cold calling to drum up legal claims trade!!!!!! Each time I tell them no one has worked in this sort of environment and each time they say they ll remove from their records and then surprise we get another call. TPS are absolutely useless!!!!!!!!
