Called at 13:51 today by a foreign sounding male, who gave an English sounding name. Said he was calling on behalf of Marks & Spencer and stated they had been given my number by the Government. When I said I wasn t the person he was asking for (I was) he said "then why the f**k did you waste my time then you b***h" before disconnecting the call. Charming gentleman.

Poor chap has had his number sold to insurance scammers (or cloned by them). They will call you to scam you, but when you call back, a normal guy who has unfortunately been tied up in this will answer.

This call came into me whilst I was in the shower. The female operator started talking immediately, I had to really raise my voice to interrupt her call whereby I explained that I could not he at her as I did not have my hearing aids in, but was in the process of trying to put them in. My expectation was that she would hold on whilst I did that. Instead with no hearable comment the phone went dead. Dont know who it was but voicemail was an automated computerised voice stating to press 1 or there would be legal action. Guess what I didnt press.
Didn’t take the call on my landline but they left a pre recorded message informing me that my card had been used in a foreign transaction twenty minutes before and that I should press 1 to stop it. I rang the number from my mobile a couple of times and each time got the busy tone. I reckon it’s a poor attempt at a scam.

I called back the number after abvout the 10th missed call. They are a company called MJE who want me to make a claim for missold PPI due to a loan or credit card. I didn t take PPI so told them they were wrong. Asked how they got my number, they get their phone list from a company called DLG Marketing. Told them to take me off the list, we ll see if I get anymore calls.

You get robocalls until you pick up from one Bournemouth number, then the next day you get your "local" energy adviser calling you - just got rid at that point so unsure whether a scam, but certainly unsolicited, and since my number is in the TPS database for not getting unsolicited calls, you can bet your life it's a dodgy company not bothered about following the law or regulations.
