Just had a call from 0161 609 3325 with an automated voice saying they were from the Tax office and I was being investigated for fraud and if I didn't press 1 to be put through then the police would come to arrest me! Can't find anything on this number online.
I was told he was not trying to sell me anything. It was the third stage in government scheme first wall insulation then loft and now grants for windows. It s a scam. Told them to sod off...but they still ring.

Called my landline claiming to be from Smiley Broadband and could save me money on my landline and broadband. Asked how long they had been trading as I've never heard of them. Guy said that they were based in Luton and had been trading for 20 years. Declined the offer and hung up.

Caller asked for someone else who lives in the house by name - after teh ususal telemarketing pause of silence..... When I explained they were not in and asked if I could take a message, the caller sounded annoyed that the person he called for was not in, and then HE HUNG UP. . Cold caller? Telemarketer? Abusive Scammers, Indian sounding, pretending to be an internet service provider. When I told him we don't volunteer personal information over the phone he said "F**k You" and hung up. When will the government do something about this, it's been going on for years.
This was an automated call from Talktalk (Voice text message) to tell me a product had been registered and ready to use.
