The phone number is for an investment company and is spam trying to get you to join there messenger group
"Bank Security" telling me they needed authorisation for two amounts on my credit card. One for £300 from Amazon. (It is amazing how often I seem to "pay" Amazon £300) and one for an overseas number. Another variation on an old scam. Blocked
Immediate hang-up. From entries on other sites anyone who manages to answer gets a silent/dead line. Exactly 24 hours laters calls begin claiming to be whatever mobile provider your voicemail said you were with (fake dealer scam). Clearly this line is being used to find out who you're with for slightly more convincing fake mobile provider scam calls. SCAM

SCAM Fraud BEWARE ! This number has only recently appeared on this site (August 2023) from other people checking. Caller says you've suspicious transactions on your card, knows your name and last four digits of the card. Asks you to check the balance, in my case without any security questions. Hung up on me and didn't call me back when I told him I keep very little in the account, whilst I was silently checking the account in the background. Yet another scam call from someone with my details. I asked how she'd got the details and she said "from a database". I asked which database and she said "her job was only to offer an extension to my washing machine guarantee". As I have no such thing anyway, it was easy to know it was a scam. Unfortunately these despicable people keep going because there are still those not wise to their tricks :-(

Can't say definitively but caller claimed to be from BT but did not have my account number or ask by name so I just told that that's a bit odd and hung up.
They call you and ask you to chose an option via an automated audio. This will likely re-route your call to a premium number that they own. It is not a legitimate caller so do not answer it.
Claimed to be from the VAT. I didn't believe them. We have accountants and all our HMRC dealings are up to date. Rascals.

01202627797 called today. It was automated and said they were from Visa fraud team. They were holding a payment of £800 (and something) pounds which was a suspicious payment on a gambling site in America. I was told to press 1 if this wasn't me and to be connected to the fraud team. Obviously I just hung up, searched the number which didn't come up with anything, I checked my bank accounts and rang the bank's fraud number. As I thought, it was a scam.
