The point of the scam is to find gullible people who will believe what they say. They are crooks who once they find a victim will ask them for personal details and /or credit card/bank details "So we can proceed with our refund to you" They then commit identity fraud or empty your bank account. Obviously you were the ones they were looking for for them to steal your hard earned money from. Second call received from this number. The first time they hung up as soon as I answered. The second time, I answered it, the bloke said that they were from "Consumer Helpline ", and "ringing about any finance [I d] taken out in the past ten years and any miss-sold PPI ", as soon as he heard me say that it was an "unsolicited call", and that "I m ex directory", the bloke hung up! SCAM. Claimed to be Amazon alerting me that a suspicious purchase of £1040 had been made on my account. Invited me to press 1 to speak to their security manager.
This number left a message to call back John (no company name). When i returned the call he tried to sell me a pension. I questioned his methods and he put the phone down on me. Any company that operates in such a way is not worth dealing with.

Claimed to be calling from o2 offering 40% discount. I was sent a text message with a code and asked for the code. (suspicious) I was then asked for the answer to my security question. (dead giveaway)

He was from Microsoft "apparently" his name was Michael "apparently" I started to talk Micrsoft and malware and cyber security as he said he was trying to help with my comouter issues . I am trained in this area started asking specific questions and I obviously was a little more knowledgable than "Michael" was.. He quickly hung up!
