A man with an Asian accent claimed to be from the Internet Security Department of BT, reporting a problem with my computer. I just told him that I am not with BT (true) and can t understand why BT didn t know that, and I hung up. This change of approach could be dangerous though because those with a BT connection might think it is genuine.

A "UK Consumers Survey" call, they have my name, and he just carried on (as if really hates his own job) try to verify my personal information which I ve then stopped him and he simply hanged up. Are based in Scotland with no known office in 01305 exchange area. Have calls from Scotland re-routed through local exchange numbers in order to persuade people to answer a local number. If you call it back, then the call is again re-routed back to their Scotland office. Not sure if this is an illegal practice under telephony legislation, but would be interested if anyone can come up with the legislation about having calls re-routed to give the answering CLI the impression that the call is local.

Missed call - Has called me on numerous times, never leaves any messages. I have no idea who this is other than I can see its a London Number. As I dont know who's calling me, I dont answer - right pain, I cant seem to find out who is calling me.

Most likely Wescot. Halifax had passed my credit card debt to them two deal with so was expecting a call.

Received a text claiming to be from online retailer VERY regarding new stock of Xbox Series X for pre-order asking me to reply YES before 2200GMT 10/11/2020 if i'm interested in re-ordering from them. Contacted VERY customer services and queried the number to which they stated that it is legitimate and if replied YES to, I will receive a phone call to organise re-ordering or the console. Unsure how legitimate this is though.
