The caller tried to persuade me that a) they were from BT and b) that cyber-hackers were piggy-backing my internet connection to download illicit material without having to reveal who they are. I was called by these people and sold a policy to cover my Hotpoint appliances for 12 months. The person seamed to know about my Hotpoint purchases and gave the impression that hes was actually from Hotpoint. I took out the cover and cancelled an existing cover with Legal and General.
