SCAM - the call looked like a normal mobile number. A pre-recorded message talks of a fraud against HMRC and an arrest warrant being issued - press button 1 or 2 Etc. I hung up - a complete scam, either attempting to get a premium rate return call or personal information.

This number claimed to be from BT. The person said I may have a technical error in my broadband router. I disputed it and I asked the person to give me their number so I could call them back. Call to my landline 0914 on Tuesday 16 May 23 Caller asked for me by name and started a long spiel about British Gas Homecare Once I could get a word in I told her I was not interested This was followed up about 30 mins later by a call from 01183150367 with a recorded message asking for a feedback rating I have reported this separately
Do not answer these persistent fraudsters
Claim to be from BT Openreach about issues with our router. Shame we’re not with that company. She kept insisting that even though we weren’t with them she needed to tell us about these issues with her router. When I challenged her about the fact that it was a scam and how could she live with herself and that BT had nothing to do with our router and couldn’t see our router she stuck to her guns that she was legit and needed to tell us what was happening with our router. I just hung up.
