Said it was British telecommunication &that my landline &internet were being turned of soon if I didn’t want this the press button 1as I know bt don’t phone you then I knew it was a scam but how many 84 year olds know this ? They are pond life.

Someone with a Northern accent who called me by my first name and informed me he was showing I have suffered some damage in a vehicle accident in the last 18 months. I haven't. I asked for my details to be removed from their database.

Sounds like a Call Centre. No response from the caller this time as he will have talked one of the other group of callers he phoned.

Jack Williams (with strong Asian accent) claiming to be from Microsoft. Quoted my software license number as a means of validation. Gave this number claiming ot was from London office (with a std code from Chester??) Complete garbage.

Immediate update - I got an almost immediate reply to my emails and they say that although this is a one-off £10 charge for a 12-month reminder service for which they make it clear there is a charge (hmmmm) they will process an immediate refund via the Post Office. So easy that one can only infer that they receive many, many requests per day for refunds from people such as me who are totally unaware that they had signed up. Result! I emailed [email protected]

American saying they can get rid of my debt wanted to know my name and how much I owe told them to ring tomorrow as I was busy but keep calling every 5 mins so have blocked them

There were no less than five calls from this number while I was out. I did not need to be told it was the criminals pestering me again as I have had so many of them. However it was confirmed next day when a call came from a slightly different number, 01614357985. Other sites informed me a large number of people had been called similarly. Both numbers have been invented, of course. This bunch of criminals are now saying they represent B.T. and that they will be cutting off internet service - in an attempt to
